In the past few months I have been following and joined a few crafting groups on Facebook. One of them is a Dollar Tree crafting group - and I LOVE it. Some of the projects in these groups -- WOW -- quite impressive. So -- I decided to try my hand at one of them.
The first trick was actually finding the items I needed to make them -- apparently there are many crafters in my area all doing the same projects. lol. BUT -- i finally found them -- and got to work.
Here is what I started out with -- and this is what they turned into, and a bit of the process.
Materials used and instructions -
The foam dice are about 2 or 2.5 inches, a hard foam - 2 in a package. I found them in the toy section. I then hit them with Waverly chalk pain from Walmart in white. It took about 3 coats to get good coverage. Once they were completely dry, I added vinyl letters I cut with my Cricut (the font is called - for those who like fonts -- is called --- get this "Are You Freakin' Serious?" lol - and i probably got it on dafont.com ). After I added the letters, I took a dry brush in some chalk paint - I think it was called hazelnut - I'll have to check to be sure - and 'dirtied' up the edges a bit. I personally think I need some practice in this, lol - but these are just going in my craft room and I like'em. LOL. After that was dry, I also took a lite grit sandpaper and evened out the color a bit and roughed it up a little.
I LOVE how they turned out. I think I'm going to make another set --- hmmm, stay tuned! Also stay tuned to see what i make with some Dollar Tree salt and pepper shakers and a butter dish ---- you will love it! ;) Don't forget to pop into my Facebook group - Around the Craft Table to get more ideas and tutorials.
In the mean time --- thanks for stopping by, and can't wait to see you again -- around the craft table!
