day 8 - Fun & Freebies --- and NO birds ;)

Hooray - we've made it to day 8 of the 12 Days of Christmas - Fun & Freebies! AND - the best news yet ---- no more birds! I've still been looking to see why all the birds - or why any of these specific gifts actually --- but not finding many answers. So -- the search continues. Until then --- day 8 --- 8 maids a-milking.

So, it looks like we've moved on to the more "useful" portions of the carol - lol. It's no secret that milk is a need for many - rich or poor.

Looking at the 8th day on the Biblical track -- it symbolizes the eight beatitudes.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,

for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,

for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Matthew 5:3-10
