If you love rustic charm and red, white, and blue decor, you’re going to love this easy craft! These primitive-style firecrackers are the perfect addition to your summer decorating — and best of all, they’re made with affordable supplies from Dollar Tree.

I used their tumbling tower blocks (yep, the mini Jenga-style ones), a bit of craft wire, and some rusty metal stars to bring these little firecrackers to life. With a bit of paint and distressing, they turn into adorable primitive-style pieces that look like they came straight from a country shop — without the price tag!
This project is super simple and doesn’t require any fancy tools or advanced skills. Whether you’re decorating for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, or just love that Americana vibe all year round, these firecrackers are a quick win. They’re also great for centerpieces, tiered trays, or mantle displays.
In the video tutorial, I walk you through every step — from gluing the blocks together to giving them that perfectly aged look. I also share a few variations if you want to mix up the colors or finishes. It’s a fun little project that comes together fast and looks like a million bucks (even though it cost just a few!).
